ABOUT THE FILM:

When The Music’s Over: The story of the live performance experience following COVID’s impact.

The documentary will be distributed by Janson Media/Amazon Prime and will follow the story of Tempe, AZ-based rock band The Black Moods with appearances by Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Rick Springfield, The Gin Blossoms, REO Speedwagon, Jimmy Eat World and more. This is the story of how artists and an entire industry is faced with an unprecedented time in history with the shuttering of music venues, canceling tours, and social distancing in an experience that can only be lived to its fullest when social.

What are musicians doing until they can perform in front of live audiences in person again? We wanted to tell a different story; the story of art, of creation, of inspiration and how social distancing alters this. This story will show what a live band does when they can’t play live, when they lose the synergy of an audience. What happens when the music ends? When the greatest pandemic to hit the world in over a century shuts the world down…how do the musicians cope? How do they engage with fans? What new technologies and ways of reaching the audience will remain when this is over? Will creativity be squelched or does raw talent, motivation and drive overcome all? Music is hope and we are all waiting for the return of live music.
